Ballapadavu Swargeeya Narayana Upadhyaya Samsmarana(BSNUS) Sangeetha Prathishtanam is a trust which was established with the aim of popularizing pure Carnatic Classical Music. This was inaugurated by the eminent Mridanga Vidwan Late Mavelikkara Velukutty Nair, retired Professor, Sri Swathi Thirunal Music College Thiruvananthapuram on 30-10-1999 ,on the occasion of the birth centenary of Late Ballapadavu Narayana Upadhyaya. The Prathishtanam was registered in the year 2005.In the beginning, classes in Carnatic Music were conducted at Agalpady to the interested students. Later, as a milestone of the Prathishtanam, ‘ Veenavadini Sangeetha Vidyapeetam’ was established at Perla on 01-05-2005. Regular classes in Vocal, Mridangam and Violin were being conducted here. Within a short span of time, enthusiastic students and most of the music lovers got attracted by the purity of the Carnatic Classical Music taught here. This  Vidyapeetam opened its new branch in Mangalore city also. Later the Prathishtanam extended its interest towards the studies and research related to Vaidic and Thanthric vidya too. As another milestone, ‘ Vaidic-Thanthric Vidyapeetam’ was established under this Prathishtanam on 23-02-2014. Thus the Prathishtanam has been putting a large effort to popularize and upgrade music, Vedas, Thanthra, Jyothishyam, Sanskrit etc.

Veenavadini Sangeetha Vidyapeetam has been conducting various programmes, workshops and camps related to Carnatic Classical Music along with the regular classes. ‘Rasikapriya’ , ‘Veenavadini Sangeethothsavam’, ‘Nadopasana’ are the series of programmes whose focus is on concerts. ‘Muraleeravam’ and ‘Ganamadhuryam’ are the series of orientation camps conducted occasionally in the institution. ‘Muraleeravam’ which is conducted exclusively by H.H.Sri Prince Ramavarma, has been recorded and telecasted by SVBC channel of Hyderabad. Festivals like Thyagarajothsavam, Onam, Diwali , Vidyadashami are also celebrated in the institution with the enthusiastic involvement of the students. ‘Sadhaka’ classes are conducted once in a week.

Sri Ballapadavu Shankaranarayana Upadhyaya, one of the well-wishers of this Prathishtanam has donated 1.38 acres of a valuable land situated at Ballapadavu of Kasaragod district to the Prathishtanam. With the big dream of a well-established campus, a building was constructed here in the year 2010 , the foundation stone of which was laid by H.H.Sri Keshavananda Bharathi Swamiji of Edneer Mutt on 06-05-2009. The big dream has been initiated in the name ‘Narayaneeyam Music Campus’ with lots of aims and objectives ahead.

The leading power, the struggling person behind the whole institution is Ganapraveena Sri Yogeesha Sharma Ballapadavu. Disregarding all the fame of the self, he has been putting a large effort to develop the pure music and to popularize the Vedas, Thanthra in the original form from this small village. A good encouragement and financial support is required from music lovers, vaidics and well-wishers of the institution to fulfill the big dreams ahead.
